Spring 2012 President’s Message

As I near the home stretch of my presidency, I have recently had several moments to reflect upon our chapter and be simply astounded at the goodwill and camaraderie that exists among us. I’ve felt proud to represent such a fine group of people -not just agents – but people who care about one another as well as about our industry, clients and future.

Out-of-Network Claims Mediation

Out-of-Network Claims Mediation

One of the services you may offer as a life and health agent is assisting your clients with the claims process. They may call you after they receive that rather large emergency room bill and question why one of the doctors they saw was out-of-network when the hospital was in-network. You can offer the typical advice, such as matching up the explanation of benefits with the itemized bill, but did you know that you can suggest mediation for certain out-of-network claims?

April 12: It’s Just Lunch

April 12: It’s Just Lunch

FWAHU puts on some great events, but sometimes all of the content can get in the way of another benefit of membership – networking. Well not this time. Our April luncheon will be just that – a luncheon. Members will have the opportunity to visit with their colleagues over lunch and, afterwards, an adult beverage or two. To help guide the conversations, tables will be divided by topic so attendees can sit with other members who are interested in the same subject. Vendors will have an opportunity to sponsor the tables and suggest a topic of discussion.
