Kathy Dorsey, principal of Long Term Care Insurance Solutions, focuses exclusively on helping families prepare for the devastating effects of long-term care through education, awareness and proactive long-term insurance planning. She designed a planning tool, “Designing Your Long-Term Care Plan” to help assist individuals and their families in preparing to meet future long-term care needs. She often coordinates her efforts with those of financial planners, accountants, elder law attorneys and other insurance professionals.
Kathy began her career in insurance and financial services in 1989. Witnessing her client’s emotional and financial challenges as caregivers for their aging parents led her to specialize in long-term care planning. She has a bachelor’s degree in Child Development from California State University, Hayward, holds the Certified in Long-Term Care designation (CLTC), obtained Series 6 and 63 licenses and is a multiple recipient of the insurance industry’s National Quality Award. In addition to working directly with clients, Kathy is a recognized expert on long-term care insurance and a frequent speaker and author of articles on long-term care insurance. She has presented to numerous organizations in the Metroplex including the Texas Society of CPA’s, Financial Planning Association of DFW, Fort Worth Association of Health Underwriters, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Fort Worth, Women in Insurance & Financial Services, Dallas and Tarrant County Bar Association.
She is a member of numerous organizations including the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI), Elder Care Matters Alliance, Continuity of Care, and Tarrant Area Gerontological Society. She is also active in Guardianship Services, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX. When not working, Kathy enjoys cooking, gardening and community service.
